Mental Health and Politics

Politics in America have become increasingly contentious in recent years, to say the least. Everything is now seen as a political issue. From the Black Lives Matter movement rekindling the civil rights era of protest, to the 2020 presidential election bringing new issues to the stage, politics have seeped into every corner of American life, leaving no stone unturned. If every problem in the United States seems to be a part of the conversation, then why are politicians not talking more about mental health?
